Beetroot Action tolerates temperature extremes
Beetroot Action is an Early Variety
Grade description
Action F1 is a hybrid of table beet from Dutch breeders from the world famous Bejo Zaden company specializing in selection, seed production and sale of vegetable seeds. The variety is listed in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation and is recommended for cultivation in the Central region. Its characteristics are presented in the table:
Parameter | Description |
Ripening period | The hybrid is early ripe - the period from the appearance of seedlings to the technical ripeness of root crops is 90-105 days. Harvest can be harvested from August to September. |
Plant | Beetroot Action has a powerful root system and a leaf apparatus, which allows it to withstand sharp changes in temperature and even dry weather. The leaf rosette is semi-upright and compact, as it grows from a single point. Succulent leaves grow vertically, acquire a bright green color and a narrow oval shape. They are characterized by medium bubbling and weak undulation at the edges. As for the petiole, it is quite powerful and red on the underside. |
Roots | The hybrid bears fruit with the following parameters:
Some gardeners appreciate the hybrid because root crops only have a small, neat cut from the tops. |
Application | Beets with excellent taste can be grown on bunch products, as well as for fresh consumption, any processing and long winter storage. |
Productivity | The hybrid has a high yield - from 3.5-5 to 9.4 kg per 1 square. m. Commodity yield is 350-510 kg / ha, which is not inferior to the standard Two-seeded TSHA and 105 kg / ha exceeds the standard Pablo F1. The maximum yield indicators were recorded in the Republic of Tatarstan at the level of 938 c / ha. The output of marketable products is 87-94%. |
In its properties, the Action F1 hybrid resembles the Pablo variety, but has a stronger leaf apparatus and a powerful root system, which guarantees its high yield and excellent germination in any conditions.

How to plant?
Beets should be planted in unshaded and well-lit areas with neutral or slightly acidic soil. Sandy soils are not suitable. To increase soil fertility, during autumn digging, it is worth adding potash fertilizers or ash to it.
Sow the seeds in a well-heated soil (+ 6 ... + 8 ° C). Typically, this weather is set in late April - in the second half of May.
Purchased planting material does not need to be pre-soaked, as it has already been treated with Tiram fungicide. On time, it can be immersed directly in the ground. The optimal landing pattern is as follows:
- the distance between the seeds in a row is 8-10 cm;
- row spacing - 25-30 cm;
- seed placement depth - 2-4 cm.
After sowing, the soil needs to be rolled up for better plant development.
Beet Care and Harvest
Action F1 refers to resistant and undemanding varieties, so caring for it is very simple and consists in conducting such events:
- water as the soil dries up, avoiding excess moisture, as it can provoke root rot (in the period of drought, 5-6 waterings are enough);
- one week after planting, thin out seedlings, leaving between 8-10 cm of plants;
- periodically loosen aisles and remove weeds;
- during the growing season, feed potash fertilizers and ash.
In late summer - early autumn, you can start harvesting. This is a simple manipulation, since root crops are only half submerged in the soil and easily pulled out of it. After cleaning, they need to be dried a little and put into storage in a cellar or basement.
Pros and cons of the variety
There are no flaws in the hybrid of the Dutch selection Action F1, but it has many advantages:
- shows tolerance to diseases and flare;
- gives a stable crop;
- possesses cold resistance;
- tolerates arid conditions;
- Fruits in aligned root crops with a small cut at the top of the tops;
- Suitable for beam products.
Reviews about Action F1
Olga Vasilievna, 46 years old. Growing beets Action in the garden last year. Immediately after harvesting, the peel of fresh root crops is removed easily and quickly, although then it must be cleaned with a knife. The pulp is bright red in color, very tender and is great for preparing salads without boiling.
Margarita, 35 years old. Reviews about the hybrid were very good, so I chose it for cultivation in the country. Sowed seeds in the ground in early May. Root crops amicably ascended, did not find passes. Beets only regularly watered, not fed. Despite this, the fruits turned out to be beautiful and large.
Vitaly Romanovich, 58 years old. Variety Action F1 I really liked. Gives a good crop of root crops of dark cherry color without veins and rings. They taste sweet and tender. The only drawback is the high cost compared to other varieties.
